Use your own domain
Put your website on yourname.com instead of the free address.
- In Website, Address, type your domain under Your own domain and save.
- The page shows the DNS records to add. At the company where you bought the domain (GoDaddy, Namecheap and so on), open its DNS settings and add them. A web address with a subdomain, like cars.yourname.com, takes one record. A bare yourname.com takes an A record and a www record.
- Remove any other A or CNAME record with the same name, then press Check my DNS.
DNS changes can take a few minutes to a few hours. Once connected, the secure padlock is set up automatically, which can take up to an hour. Your free address keeps working, and search engines are told your own domain is the real one.
